Coffee is one of the important commodities in the world. It is consumed by many people around the world and plays a major part in some economies of the world. It is traded through some major commodities board around the world, e.g. New York Board of Trade (NYBOT). Currently, Brazil is the worlds largest coffee producer which constitutes about 32% (year 2006) of the total world production.
Coffee is an "addictive" beverage made from grounded roasted coffee beans. The pleasant aroma and taste makes it irresistible to coffee lovers. There are many ways to consume this concoction. Some like it hot and some like it cold. It can be consumed with or without sweetener, cream, milk or any other combination you can think of. Its very versatile and creative people can create new taste and flavor. Many businesses have built an empire around coffee, like Starbucks.
The Origin Of Coffee
According to legend, coffee was first discovered in the highlands of Ethiopia during the 9th Century by a shepherd called Kaldi. While tending to his herd, he was intrigued by the strange behavior of his goat. They were happily dancing and leaping after eating strange red berries. He plucked those berries and brought them to a neighboring convent and relates his observation to the priests there. They decided to boil those berries and after drinking the brew, found an extra boost of energy. From there on, the beverage starts to spread to other areas in that region from Egypt to Yemen before reaching Turkey, Persia and some parts of Africa.
Coffee eventually reached Europe in 1690 when the Dutch managed to smuggle coffee plants out from the Arabian land. It was first introduced into Moka (Mauritius), Sri Lanka, India and finally the island of Java in Indonesia before finally brought home to Europe. It was later introduced to the French Caribbean colonies. The coffee plant eventually spreads throughout the American Latin and soon the coffee beans become a major export commodity of some countries here.
Major Coffee Species
There are two major species of coffee plants cultivated for consumption, namely Coffea Arabica Linnaeus (commonly referred to as Arabica) and Coffea canephora (commonly called Robusta). The Arabica variety has a better taste compare to Robusta which is much bitter but less aroma. Sometimes, Robusta is used in the coffee blend to reduce cost. There are also other species of coffee plant like Coffea liberica and Coffea esliaca which is indigenous to Liberia and Sudan respectively.
The Art Of Roasting Coffee
The coffee beans have to be roasted before it can be consumed. After the coffee berries are harvested, the berries are stripped off their flesh leaving only the seed or beans. It is left aside to ferment in order to remove the slimy layer present on the coffee bean. When this process is completed, the fermented coffee bean is washed to remove fermented residue before being dried and graded.
There are several ways to roast coffee, such as traditional roasting, 10 minute quick roast, 90 second flash roast and many others. Different methods will give rise to different taste and aroma. As heat is applied, the coffee beans will loose moisture and turn dark. This is due to the natural occurrence of caramelized sucrose. When there is no more water in the coffee beans, the sugar and acid will begin to release their aroma. This is called the Maillard reactions. The roasting process is then halted and beans cooled and stored. Grinding can be performed and stored in an air tight container to maintain freshness.
Conclusion
Coffee is a favorite beverage of many people. It is now available in convenient forms like instant coffee granules. Some creative coffee companies have introduced pre-mixed sachets so that coffee can be consumed at any time, any place. Just add hot water and your coffee is ready. Canned coffee has also started selling in parts of Asia especially Japan and South Korea.

A description of the different types of opt in leads and how they can benefit an online business.
In our business world many are finding more benefits of online marketing then ever before. The world wide web is providing great options for marketers to gain hot new leads on prospective customers. There are several forms of opt in leads these are leads from customers who provide their information to a company of their own will. This gives the company the opportunity to send them information or advertisements on their products or services in the future. It also helps them lower the targets to specifically those who are interested. This will save them lots on advertising and promotional expenses. It keeps the companies from wasting their money on customers that are not interested in their products.
Determining which opt-in strategy or strategies are best for your company can be difficult. Knowing exactly what you want, as well as how much you are willing to spend can make a big difference on the strategy you choose to use. There are a few opt-in types available online listed below:
Mlm Leads: These types of leads are targeted for businesses that are looking for network marketing and Mlm Leads. They are a thorough evaluation of the prospective lead. They provide surveys, and email as well as phone call verifications in some cases. This will give you a great opportunity to get targeted and serious leads for your company you can also acquire local, national, and International lead generation.
Email leads and autoresponders: These types of leads are for all forms of companies. They can be used for those who are just looking to generate traffic or those who run an e-commerce business and are looking for more customers. They typically provide an Autoresponder with the package that allows you to personalize your potential customers and can produce leads as recent as 24-72 hours ago which gives you fresh leads. Auto-responders will also allow you to generate your business 24 hours a day increasing your business up to 90%!
Opt-in plus-investor leads: These leads give a company the heads up on investors targeted at there form of business. The investor leads can greatly minimize the overall amount a company invests in advertising. Finding solid investors on the internet is hard tasks these leads provide them with all the information they need to find what they are looking for at expand their company.
Overall to help your business thriving and to save on the advertising costs of online business one should invest in opt-in leads. It gives you protection from spam accusations as well as targeting your area of the industry. If you are looking locally, nationally, or Internationally Opt-In Leads can help!
Confirmed opt in or double opt in is definitely the way to go. This means that the subscriber will get an email to their email account asking them to click a link to confirm that they truly want to join your list. The insures that nobody else can use their email address to subscribe to your opt in list. Many people will not confirm. Some emails may unfortunately get blocked by spam filters. (This is why I suggest using an outside service to manage your list like Aweber or Getresponse.) However, those who opt in will be highly targeted opt in leads who really are interested in what you offer. It may take more time but you are better off going for quality in the long run and develop a real targeted list of confirmed opt in subscribers that you can market to over and over.

Whether you are a sales professional or the proud owner of an Internet or brick-and-mortar business, there is a wonderful way to deliver your message to thousands of motorists and pedestrians every day.
You can stick small and fancy plates in the back of your car. These little plates will work hard for you in downtown traffic, on a crowded freeway or even while you're parked at the mall.
Imagine the impact of having your website address, e-mail address, company name, phone number and business message seen thousands of times every day in major city traffic.
Assuming the average person drives to and from work daily in rush hour traffic in a large city, EACH plate you display in your car will be seen and understood a minimum of 3,000 times per day.
These are called "impressions". Start figuring the cost. Assume the average car owner will keep their vehicle for 3 years. 3,000 impressions per day X 365 days = 1,095,000 impressions per year (X 3 years = 3,285,000 impressions per plate!).
Forget bumper stickers and other cheap, cheesy decals. The small plates I am talking about are available in elegant polished chrome or a luxurious gold matte finish and are carefully hand assembled to your text specifications. They mount safely to your vehicle and have been road tested in the frigid Canadian north and in dry desert heat. Your plate can be run through hundreds of car washes and will probably outlast your car!
Who can use these plates?
Webmasters - Small Businesses - Manufacturers - Corporations - Auto Dealerships - Political Organizations - Retail Stores - Limousine Services - Real Estate Companies - MLM's - Internet Businesses - Service Businesses - Schools - Universities - Trade Unions - Associations - Churches - Individuals
What are they doing with these plates?
* Advertising and promoting their Web Sites and Businesses Using them as Premiums and Incentives* FUNDRAISING* Broadcasting their message* Creating Goodwill by giving them to customers and employees* Creating public interest in their products and services with catchy slogans that get noticed on the road!
What do they put on their plates?
Web Site URL's - Email Addresses - Company Names - Slogans - Phone & Fax Numbers - Association and Institution Names - Personal Messages and Favorite Sayings ....and the list is growing!
Where do they put them?
Vehicles - Trucks - Vans - Taxis - Fleets - Buses - Boats
In the Office - On Office Doors - Storefront Windows - Walls - Filing Cabinets - Counters
At Home - In Home Offices - On the Mail Box- Bedroom Doors - Refrigerator Doors
In my research I have found out this as one of the best ways to promote your business or website while your effort is simply driving your car as you do every day. The cost of this small displays compared to their effect and millions of views of your business name is simply ridiculous.
This is a very simple yet extremely effective way of promoting your business, website or your own name to thousands while you are simply driving your car. This promotional system is at the same time very elegant and nice looking. Nobody but the cars or people passing or driving behind your car will notice your nice sticker.

Remember our parable in Part I about the old gold miner in 1849? Don't you think he would have struck that gold vein much sooner if he had today's technology?...a 10 ton computerized bull dozer instead of picks and shovels? A lot of Internet Marketers are using picks and shovels to mine their gold online when they could be using 10 ton computerized bulldozers... use technology to your advantage!
Right now the search engines love quality content, so writing good articles or having them ghost written for you will deliver huge benefits. An Internet Marketing Program that automates the process of article marketing is always a good investment. The Google slap is a clear indication that good quality content is and will continue to be rewarded handsomely.
One of the most compelling lessons I have learned with Internet Marketing is that it is a numbers game...getting your product or service in front of the most qualified people as possible. Early on in my career as an Internet Marketer I thought that if I simply show my affiliate link to a hundred people on a Google ad, that is all I needed to do to make money...boy was I wrong! There are numerous other ways to market your product or service other than slapping an ad on Google.
Don't get me wrong, Google ads are still a very effective way to market your product...just don't use it exclusively. Make sure you know what you are doing before you put your ad on Google or you can lose your shirt. There are many good eBooks online that will teach you how to learn the Google ad system. Even the Google ad website has free tutorials for you to learn the system...read...read....read!
Finding an Internet Marketing Program that shows you how to effectively market your product is crucial! I cannot emphasize this enough. You need to know many marketing methods so you can attack on many fronts...not just Google ads. Google can be a money pit for a novice.
The Internet Marketing Program you choose should have a good support system with a proven roadmap to success. There is nothing that angers me more than the multitude of Internet Marketing Programs currently online in the form of eBooks that show you a few tricks, but have no support system...no roadmap for success.
Once you have a good feeling in your gut about the Internet Marketing Program you're about to embark on and you have done your due diligence, go all out! Don't get sidetracked with other programs, stay focused with the Internet Marketing Program you have chosen. Focus exclusively on it for 3 months and then evaluate. I have always felt that you should do something you feel passionate about...this helps you get through the inevitable ups and downs you will encounter in your new venture.
In the final analysis you should research the company, find Internet Marketing Programs that teach multiple marketing methods and automate required tasks, then stay the course with unwavering resolve and you will achieve much success.
Good Luck and Stay The Course!

The Internet can be heaven or hell when it comes to finding money making opportunities. There are so many programs on the internet promising to make you rich that it will make your head spin. How do you determine which programs are legit and which are scams? You need to know what to look for.
There are some red flags you must be aware of. Stay away from Internet Marketing Programs that want a large upfront investment. If the program promises big money with little work, another red flag you should stay away. Also, if you don't know what it is your selling, stay away like the plague. Another sure sign you’re dealing with a huckster is a lack of contact information.
Unfortunately there are still some illegal pyramid schemes out there that give the legitimate Internet Marketing Programs a bad name. A sure sign of an illegal pyramid is where the sole objective is to recruit new members into the pyramid with no product or service involved.
Of course there are a lot of excellent businesses online that charge a fee to become a representative for them. Use the Internet Marketing Program for 3 months before you give your verdict. You should have a good idea by then whether you are receiving a benefit for your investment. Don't be too quick to dismiss an Internet Marketing Opportunity, give it 3 months.
The reason most people fail at Internet Marketing is they give up too quickly. There is a parable about an old gold miner that explains this fact all too painfully: "During the gold rush of 1849 an old miner had been digging for months with nothing to show for it. Frustrated at his lack of success, he gave up on his gold mine and sold it for a pittance. When the new miner continued digging where the old miner had left off he struck a huge gold vein...only 2 feet away from where the old miner had stopped digging!"
The moral of the story, don't give up...your gold mine may only be a few feet away!
Do your due diligence before signing on with an Internet Marketing Program. Research the company, visit forums, contact the company and see how their customer service is?...how long till they responded to you? Ask them questions...know exactly what you are getting into.
The Internet Marketing Program you choose should automate a lot of the tasks that are required to make money online... use the power of computing! You want to work smarter, not harder. For example, if you don't know how to build your own optimized website, choose an Internet Marketing Program that does that for you. Somebody has already spent years on how to create fully optimized money making websites, why reinvent the wheel?
Make sure the Internet Marketing Program you are doing utilizes auto responders in their marketing. I’m sure you have heard the term “The Money is in the list”. Auto Responders are such a powerful weapon in your marketing campaigns that I cannot emphasize this enough. Most people will not buy your product until they are exposed to it 7 times, on average. Email auto responders allow you to expose your product to your customers every day!
Auto responders help you build trust with your customers, especially when you are sending them quality content on a daily basis... use it!
Stay tuned for Part II...

Bum Marketing For Income – The Right Way!

Bum Marketing For Income – The Right Way!

In 2007 a new term became very popular among internet marketers: Bum Marketing. It’s a cute way of describing an affiliate marketing approach that incurs no expenses for web hosting or domain registration. Free community websites are utilized instead, ones where free web pages are being handed out to all comers. Basically you are building a page that is promoting an affiliate program, and trying to get your visitors to click through to the sales page. There has been a lot of commotion about this in the forums as of late.
Despite all the hype, most bum marketers fail – even the most well-intentioned of them. The primary reason for this is that they go into it with a misconception of what it’s all about. They soon find out that easy money does not flow quite as freely as they were initially led to believe. It turns out that putting up pages and attracting quality traffic that clicks on your links are two entirely different things.
The traffic from this type of marketing all comes from search engines. So the web pages are hosted on search-engine friendly sites. A bum marketer targets long-tail keyword search phrases that are related to the product being promoted, and writes an article ultimately leading to a recommendation of that product. Their affiliate link is conveniently provided. Sounds simple enough, so what can go wrong?
Several things, actually. You must be able to write well and your asking the reader to visit the link must seem compelling. The search phrase you are targeting needs to be relatively uncompetitive in order for your page to get decent rankings. The site you choose to host your web page must be one that naturally achieves decent rankings for many of it’s individual pages. Even with all that, you still need to build incoming links to your web page in order to achieve and keep your page’s search engine rankings. And of course, the sales page you are promoting must convert well.
A good choice for web page hosting is Hubpages.com. They are very search engine friendly, and it is easy to build clean-looking pages there. You want to find only high-converting sales pages to promote, and you need to discover long-tail search phrases which do not have strong competition at the top of the search results to target. Keyword Discovery has a free online tool that is currently the best available for finding search terms to target.
When your page is published you need to establish some incoming links to it. There are two very effective ways of doing this, and you should do both of them for all of your pages. The first way is to write another article with a link to your web page in the author’s bio box and submit it to the top article directories on the web. The second way is to submit your links to 30 or so of the top social book-marking sites. It’s best to do this over time, for example adding four or five book-marking links every few days over the course of four to six weeks.
If you do everything right you will have a page that gets some (but not a lot) of traffic, and earns a commission every once in a while. For this type of affiliate marketing to make a noticeable difference in your finances, you need to build a heck of a lot of pages over the course of several months or longer. Be consistent in your efforts. That’s when you will start to see the payoff.

Just because you have to deal with stage fright does not mean that you have to be a bad speaker. I don't know anyone that does not have a difficult time speaking in front of an audience to one degree or another. In fact, a healthy amount of fear while giving a speech will help you to be a better speaker. So you have a choice to make, you can either fall apart because you are afraid to speak in front of an audience or you can use your fear to help you to be the best speaker possible. Here are some typical problems that many new speakers face that can make you a bad speaker and can easily be overcome with a little practice.
Some people that have anxieties tend to take their problems to the opposite extreme. For example, if somebody is dealing with stage fright they may overcompensate by becoming overly relaxed. This will not come across as you being relaxed and poised to your audience. What it will do, however, is to make you a poor speaker. One classic example of this is that many new speakers that are nervous will overcompensate for their nervousness by leaning on the podium or becoming overly familiar with a strange audience. It is necessary to maintain your composure by standing up tall when you're speaking and to build a relationship with your audience during the course of your presentation. Do not allow your nervousness to make you seem arrogant.
Another problem that many people have is that they let their nervousness show up by using unnatural body inflections. I once heard a talk that was given by somebody that was supposed to be experienced yet the entire time that they were speaking they were jingling their keys in their pocket. This was not only distracting but it also showed that the person was nervous and was difficult to concentrate on the information that they were trying to convey. Nervousness can also show up in over gesturing or facial tics. One of the best ways to pick up on this kind of a problem is to have somebody videotape you giving the presentation in front of a group of trusted friends. You can then watch yourself for any body movements that come across as being unnatural.
The most important thing in dealing with stage fright is that you do not allow your audience to know that you are nervous. Many speakers will feed off of the emotions of their audience and if they are able to control the situation they're stage fright will disappear quickly after they began their presentation. This is something that is very important to remember because if you are dealing with severe stage fright you need to handle yourself correctly from the beginning in order to overcome it. Once you realize that you are in control of the situation it will be much easier for you to relax and to go through your information in a logical and comfortable manner.

Everyone knows that stress exists. You and I deal with it every single day of our lives. But, what many don't understand is how stress affects a person. It can change who you are, what you think, and how you feel.
As humans, we all cope with stress in our own ways. We may choose to ignore it which really isn't coping and can lead to more serious physical and mental health problems. Or we may turn it to our advantage, run from it, or get beaten down by it. Whichever way we choose to deal with stress the fact remains the same: Stress does affect a person and shouldn’t be ignored.
If you choose to ignore stress your body will begin to feel "overloaded." It's not healthy to let stress linger; to let it feed off of your internal organs. As I mentioned before, holding in the things that are bothering you could lead to serious health risks. Most of us like to think we're strong and can handle anything placed before us. So what if you can run yourself ragged twenty-four hours a day? So what if you can muster up energy on only two hours of sleep?
No prizes are given out for that lifestyle. And none of these things will matter when stress decides to blow up in your face. So just how does stress affect a person?
If you don't take the time to deplete the stressors you're faced with you'll soon find you can't think as clearly, and you may even become filled with rage. Furthermore, your body can only take so much abuse.
When your body and mind have been filled with enough pain and aggravation, you begin to weaken and you may not even realize it at first. And the affects of the weakening process will change who you are and why you exist. You'll also start to realize changes – for the worse – in your physical health. Stress poses some significant health risks such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and gastric problems. It can also lead to weight gain, premature again and simply feeling more aches and pains.
Stress affects a person in some deadly ways . . . stress is a capable killer. It needs to be taken seriously by everyone – no exceptions.
Choosing to run from stress will not stop it. Stress can and will catch up to you no matter where you flee to or where you try to hide. Instead face the challenge head on. Please don't let stress affect you as a person in any significant negative ways.
You don't want to become like some folks. I'm talking about people who let stress beat them down so badly that they're unrecognizable. The person that they once were is "lost."
They become irritable, agitated, exhausted, hopeless, defiant, submissive, and antisocial. They stop exploring the joys of life and instead dwell on the evils. They lose all concentration and enter into denial. They stop communicating with the outside world. They give up on hope and latch on to despair. They become lost souls.
Conversely, when you use stress to your advantage you've learned the skill of processing stress in a positive way. You've learned to cope with it effectively and to channel it. You don't let the little things wear you down. You thrive to have bigger things fall into your lap.
You take the time to think about the situation confronting you. Then you decide how you can use it to move forward. You harness the energy normally wasted on stress and use to fuel your ambitions. You're not afraid of stress. Instead you let it affect you in a positive way.
How stress affects a person varies from person to person. But it doesn't have to alter your personality. It doesn't have to be a demon. And it doesn't have to cause chaos in your life or those you love. You can manage it and you can be the winner in stressful situations.

Of course, we didn't all grow up financially comfortable, but neither did some of the world's richest people. Several of my most successful students are real rags to riches stories gaining their vast financial successes through single-minded perseverance, education, hard work, intention and a little luck. Their persistence, raising their set points and advancing their mindsets all were part of the mix in what eventually turned them into money magnets.
Internal obstacles sometimes need to be overcome in order to advance in life and this holds true as we seek to attain an unselfconscious relationship with affluence and a super affluent clientèle. The journey from self conscious to confidence in dealing with all things relating to affluence can be highly individualized. People who grow up poor or struggling, can carry with them that feeling of scarcity no matter how wealthy they become. The father of a student of mine grew up during the depression and became an orphan at the age of thirteen.
My student's father and his feelings of guilt and shame, in addition to being accustomed to having very little from a young age, really shaped his attitude toward wealth and money. Despite being quite successful in later life, despite having several businesses and being a property owner in the very advantageous real estate market of San Francisco in the 80's and 90's, there was always this residual fear of scarcity which shadowed everything he did.
My student had everything he could ever need as a child--a nice house, an excellent education, plenty of food and never a fear that the electricity would be turned off. His father's experiences really framed how he viewed money, however. He, despite all his comfort in life, developed a real scarcity fear as well which in turn created a social and class self-consciousness.
Unfortunately, this social self-consciousness thwarts a fluid relationship with affluence and the affluent and we should do everything we can to overcome it.
Our first step in overcoming this self-consciousness is to understand that there is no shame in abundance. There is absolutely enough for all of us. Life need not be fraught with scarcity. If you are reading this, you have the ability to thrive with an abundant life. We're here on this planet, I believe, to learn and when we redirect whatever shame and fear into a new pathway, this learning is accomplished.
And once we are right with ourselves, our social confidence, no matter what income level, will skyrocket and we will be able to very naturally enter into any social or business interaction with ease even if these social or business interactions are with super affluent people.
Try doing this: every morning when you wake up, before you get out of bed, tell yourself, 'I'm a money magnet' and see what kind of unexpected gains you receive throughout your day. It's an amazing little exercise in faith and attraction and a truly beautiful gift you can give to yourself. Get into the flow of the energy called money.

"Two men look out through the same bars: One sees the mud, and one sees the stars."- Frederick Langbridge, A Cluster of Quiet Thoughts
If you’ve placed second in a writing contest, will you jump for joy and push for better results the next time or will you be discouraged and find an excuse not to join again?
In life, you are always filled with choices. You may opt to have a pessimist’s view and live a self-defeated life or you may decide to take the optimist’s route and take a challenging and fulfilling life.
So why nurture an optimist’s point of view? And why now?
Well, optimism has been linked to positive mood and good morale; to academic, athletic, military, occupational and political success; to popularity; to good health and even to long life and freedom from trauma.
On the other hand, the rates of depression and pessimism have never been higher. It affects middle-aged adults the same way it hits younger people. The mean age of onset has gone from 30 to 15. It is no longer a middle-aged housewife’s disorder but also a teenager’s disorder’ as well.
Here’s how optimists are in action and researches that back up why it really pays to be an optimist:
Optimists expect the best
The defining characteristic of pessimists is that they tend to believe bad events, which will last a long time and undermine everything they do, are their own fault.
The truth is optimists are confronted with the same hard knocks of this world. What differs is the way they explain their misfortune---it’s the opposite way. They tend to believe defeat is just a temporary setback, that its causes are confined to this one case.
Optimists tend to focus on and plan for the 'problem' at hand. They use 'positive reinterpretation.' In other words, they most likely reinterpret a negative experience in a way that helps them learn and grow. Such people are unfazed by bad situation, they perceive it is a challenge and try harder.
They won’t say “things will never get better,” “If I failed once, it will happen again” and “If I experience misfortune in one part of my life, then it will happen in my whole life.”
Positive expectancies of optimists also predict better reactions during transitions to new environments, sudden tragedies and unlikely turn of events. If they fall, they will stand up. They see opportunities instead of obstacles.
People respond positively to optimists
Optimists are proactive and less dependent on others for their happiness. They find no need to control or manipulate people. They usually draw people towards them. Their optimistic view of the world can be contagious and influence those they are with.
Optimism seems a socially desirable trait in all communities. Those who share optimism are generally accepted while those who spread gloom, panic and hysteria are treated unfavorably.
In life, these people often win elections; get voted most congenial and sought for advice.
When the going gets tough, optimists get tougher
Optimists typically maintain higher levels of subjective well-being during times of stress than do people who are less optimistic. In contrast, pessimists are likely to react to stressful events by denying that they exist or by avoiding dealing with problems. Pessimists are more likely to quit trying when difficulties arise.
They persevere. They just don’t give up easily, they are also known for their patience. Inching their way a step closer to that goal or elusive dream.
Optimists are healthier and live longer
Medical research has justified that simple pleasures and a positive outlook can cause a measurable increase in the body's ability to fight disease.
Optimists’ health is unusually good. They age well, much freer than most people from the usual physical ills of middle age. And they get to outlive those prone to negative thoughts.
So why not be an optimist today? And think positively towards a more fulfilled life.
Why not look forward to success in all your endeavors? Why not be resilient? Like everybody else you are bound to hit lows sometimes but don’t just stay there. Carry yourself out of the mud and improve your chances of getting back on the right track. And why not inspire others to remove their dark-colored glasses and see life in the bright side?

How To Get And Stay Motivated!

How To Get And Stay Motivated!

You've experienced it. I have too. A slump, a rut . . . one of those “Everything/everyone is dumping on me,” attitudes.
The key to success is how you deal with it. How you get and keep yourself motivated. That's right, I said how you motivate yourself.
No one can motivate you. Just like no one can stress you out, or reject you, you alone can allow yourself to be affected by outside influences. Therefore it's critical-especially in this profession-that you have a never-ending plan that keeps your outlook-and correspondingly, your performance-at sky-high levels. And there's one proven way to do that consistently.
Goals.
Everything of significance that you've ever achieved was likely first visualized by you as a goal. Great stuff just doesn't automatically happen.
To get more motivated, and stay that way, you need targets to shoot for. Here are tips for setting and reaching your goals, and staying motivated.
• Pick goals that you desire passionately. If you just mildly wish for something, you won't muster the drive to pursue it, and weather the storms you'll encounter along the way. For example, if you just wouldn't mind dropping a few pounds, that's not strong enough. If you feel you must lose 15 pounds because you absolutely refuse to go up another clothes size, and you've had it with feeling sluggish all the time, you'll do what it will take to shed the excess baggage.
• Pick goals you can see yourself attaining. Before you begin, you must be able to visualize the end result. Otherwise your subconscious will never buy into the notion you can accomplish it. People never rise above their own self-perception. If you can't see yourself earning $20,000 more than you do today, you'll never get there. Conversely, if you visualize yourself already there, you'll think of what you'll need to do to actually reach your destination
• Pick goals you're willing to work hard to achieve. Everyone would like to make more money. A small percentage are willing to do what it takes to make it a reality. That's part of the reason lotteries are so popular. Whatever you select as a goal has trade-offs attached. Only if you're willing to toil and sacrifice will you reach that goal.
• When setting your goals, remove your doubts. Most of us fly way too close to the ground. Doubts are not the result of rational thinking, but habitual thinking. Write out some of the self-limiting beliefs that are like lead weights strapped to your feet, and rewrite them in a positive, possibility-thinking way. For example, “I've never been able to close the large accounts where the big commissions are,” could become, “What I need to do is analyze what other people do who consistently close the large accounts, and work up my own strategy.”
• Take risks. Sure it's a bit spooky treading into territory you've never traveled, but it's also motivating! Plus, the only risks that aren't a bit scary are the ones you've outgrown.• Don't let details get in your way. Fussing about the details burdens your thinking and fuels the fires of doubt. After setting your goal, immediately fire your machine in motion. It's easier to view the possibilities when you're moving, plus it eliminates worry. Don't worry about what happens in the middle of a jump-focus on the end.
More Motivational Tips
Recall your most motivated moments. When were you last fired up, storming toward something you desired with the intensity of an out-of-control freight train thundering down a mountain? What were you pursuing? This gives you a clue to what you really want. Can you-and are you willing-to repeat the desire and the tactics again?
Expect to excel. Ask winners and they'll tell you, matter of factly, that there was never a doubt that they'd achieve their lofty levels. Sure, they ran into road blocks along the way, but progress has a way of masquerading as problems, and they prodded along.
Act as if you've already achieved your goal. I asked a superstar rep to what he attributed his success, and he told me his life changed when he started acting like a top performer, even before he got there. He studied the people who pulled down the big numbers (and dollars), and copied their behavior . . . coming in early, not squandering phone time, asking for commitment more often . . . expecting to do well. The results followed.
Walk 25% faster. Don't laugh. Psychologists have proven body posture and movement affects attitudes. Ever see a slovenly loser walk with a spring in his step, like he actually had something important to do? No, they shuffle along. Conversely, watch the gait of achievers you admire. Their confident stride says, “I'm coming from something I just achieved, marching over to conquer another challenge.”
Think “Action, Now.” Rid from your vocabulary the words, “tomorrow,” “later,” “one of these days,” “someday,” and other wish-oriented vague terminology that typically results in “never”-type of behavior. Any time you're tempted to lazily shove an achievement-oriented task out to the ambiguous horizon, stop yourself and take action, immediately.

It seems that many business people are either oblivious to or are choosing to ignore the upcoming changes to Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. There in lies a potential problem.
While most folks say, "my PC updates for DST automatically," they fail to understand that the update is based on the OLD DST standard time changes in April and October. Since the new time changes take place in March and November, PC's that have an Operating System of Windows95 through XP (Pro or Home) Service Pack 1 will NOT change time correctly.
Just what type of effect could the new time changes have on PC users? Here's an example of what one major corporation has told their offices:
“The list of impacted systems could include anything from the Heating/AC system to Access Door Controls to Trading Systems and Blackberries.”
The company also noted: “All associates using the Outlook Calendar will be impacted by this change. In order for Outlook to see the new DST rules, an updated tool must be run on every user’s PC.”
Of course most people don't have their PC's programmed to operate their Heating/AC systems, most DO use their computers in one manner or another to perform certain tasks at a specified time.
Let's say for example that you're using an automated program to track and submit your auctions for you on eBay(r). The program will continue to run as it should, but it will make your auction submissions later than they should if you're not set up for the new time changes.
Any type of automated programming that you rely on you PC doing for you will run one hour late this spring, and an hour early in the fall.
So how can you cover yourself for these new changes? Well, there are a couple of ways to do this. You can get a "fix" from Microsoft for an estimated $65. Or, you can put post-it notes on your screen to reminde you to run the clock up an hour in March, then back an hour in April.
When October comes around, your computer will drop back an hour, so you'll have to remember to set it forward an hour. Then, in November (the new time change for fall,) you'll have to move it back an hour.
If you're a real computer techie, you can do a Google search for Daylight Saving Time changes and find several sites that will tell you how to make permenant changes to your system. From what has been posted on the problem so far, you're still looking at making up to two or three registry changes in your system to get the job done.
No matter what course you decided to take, remember that the new Daylight Saving Time changes are as sure as the sun coming up in the morning. If you don't want your business knocked to it's knees by the changes the time to do something is right now. Nothing worse than trying to close the barn door after the horse has already escaped.

Becoming A Website Designer

Are you looking to get into website design for the first time? This overview is really aimed at people who want to adopt this as a pastime or perhaps those of you who are looking to move your career in that direction. But this is a complex subject, right? Well yes it can be, but it is actually quite simple if you want to develop a straightforward website for personal use and you have no aspirations to try and sell your services in the future.
In my opinion, you shouldn't begin to think about starting out as a web designer unless you are reasonably technical or at least you have more than a passing interest in the Internet. My own interest started out because I am passionate about the Internet as a communication medium. One important thing it is worth flagging up from the outset is that web design can be addictive and don't even think about it if you don't have an understanding partner! It can become an all-consuming activity very quickly as you begin to master the technologies.
So what do you need to start out in web design? Well for sure you need a computer and Internet connection - your first tick in the box! Secondly, you need some software to 'code' your web design. For starters, you can get all sorts of freeware and shareware off the web and you can begin by searching for 'HTML Editors'. Don't worry about what this stands for, as it's irrelevant. You will need a HTML Editor to create the code for your website. As you move up the website learning curve, you will more than likely want to invest in commercial software such as Microsoft's FrontPage or something like Dreamweaver. "So that's all I need?" I hear you ask. Well, it would be handy to start out with a few reference books to get you started. Getting your first rung on the web design ladder is probably the hardest part and it can be quite frustrating in the early stages as you try and figure out the technicalities. However, there are masses of help on the Web, but I cannot recommend highly enough that you at least get a reference book like "Website Design for Dummies" to make things a little easier.
Most of the HTML Editors are WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get), so this will make life so much easier for you. As your skills progress you will inevitably start to look at other people's web design techniques and study the code they have used to develop certain things that catch your eye as you browse the Web. At this point you will need to begin to understand how the code works and things will begin to get more complicated. In a matter of weeks you will be talking knowledgably about Tables, CSS, Java Script etc. You will become the 'office bore' before you know it!
Finally, you will need to think about how you will get your fledgling website out in front of the unsuspecting public i.e. on the Internet. You're unlikely to want to go and buy a domain name and a hosting package from day one, so it's probably best if you check out what your Internet Service Provider offers you for free. Most of the larger companies offer limited facilities to publish your web pages at no cost and this is a great starting point.
One thing is for sure. If and when you actually get to the point of publishing your work of art so you can access it via the Web, you will be glowing with pride and fascination. I certainly did and it's quite an addictive feeling. Then the fun begins trying to attract visitors to your website, but that can wait for another day. Good luck!

4-Step Plan To Improve Your Website Traffic

If you have seen the Kevin Costner movie "Field of Dreams" you would think that having designed and built your website, all you have to do is to sit back and watch the visitors arrive in their droves. But of course, it's not that easy is it? However, if you follow this four-step plan you will begin to see those visitors arrive, if not in spectacular numbers:
1. Announcing your website’s presence
With the majority of traffic being generated through the top search engines (Google, Yahoo, AOL, MNS etc.) the starting point is to let them know that your website exists. This is achieved by submitting a request through their "Add/Submit URL" facilities. You can do this individually or you could think about using software to submit a batch request to most of the search engines that now exist. It you look for "search engine submission software” you will find an abundance of free and paid-for services, but I would advise against parting with your hard-earned cash at this stage.
2. Achieving a high a search engine ranking
You will probably already understand the concept that when that the search engines deliver results from your key word entry, the websites are ranked according to both the relevance and popularity. So let’s examine what is meant by these terms:
Relevance - you will read a lot about making sure your website contains material that intrinsically carries value. If for instance, your website is about tropical fish, then make sure it is packed with facts about the subject and don't be shy about it. Make sure your website content carries the key words that the tropical fish fraternity will search for. If not, you can be sure your website will be consigned to appear on page13,563 of the search results. You guessed it, no one will ever see your masterpiece!
Popularity - the principal way in which the Search Engines determine the level of a website’s popularity is to take into consideration the number and quality of links from other websites. The ranking algorithms used by the Search Engines are closely guarded secrets, but his is widely recognized that popularity is determined as follows:
- by the absolute numbers of links;
- they are not weighted according to the ranking or popularity of the website they are coming from;
- whether the link itself is from a website in a related sector (i.e. an aquarium wholesaler linking to a tropical fish retailer).
3. Generating Direct Traffic
This is probably the most difficult and time-consuming strategy to generate visitors. So is it worth it? I would definitely recommend it if you are offering a niche product or service or you're trying to generate leads in your local market. You can do this in a variety of ways. For instance:
-by distributing ‘fliers’
-testing the market with highly targeted advertisements
-taking every opportunity to include your website's address on e-mail, letter headed paper etc
-by word of mouth
4. “Pay-Per-Click” advertising
More and more businesses are turning to sponsored links as a means of guaranteeing prominence in the Search Engines. Google’s Adwords programme is by far the market leader in pay-per-click advertising and generates millions of dollars in revenue every day. However, unless you have particularly ‘deep pockets’, you should make sure you don't rely exclusively on pay-per-click traffic to your website and you should try to organically improve your visibility in the free search engine results as well.

10 Ways To Improve Customer Loyalty

10 Ways To Improve Customer Loyalty

Having loyal customers is the key to running a business. Repeat customers can make all the difference in the world as far as profit margin goes, not to mention the extra business gained from word-of-mouth. Even a first-year economics student can tell you that word-of-mouth is the #1 way to grow your customer base without spending one red cent on advertising. The question, however, that many business owners face is how to take that first step.
Common sense says that to have repeat customers that are going to tell their friends about you, they have to leave your business happy. Here are ten no-nonsense ways to help make customer service your calling card.
1. Customer service training. It sounds basic, but investing a few bucks in proper training manuals is an investment that can pay off. If your employees understand the best way to deal with customers, they will help communicate your business philosophies at every turn, thereby allowing customers to see your dedication to the business. This will not only keep customers coming back to your door, it will also help the recommend your business to other potential customers.
2. Offer the best deals in town for your customers and they will come back again and again. If it's possible that you can have a deal that creates an edge over your competition, offer it every chance you get. You want customers to see your commitment to them, not your commitment to making more money for your business. In turn, you will end up making more money for your business, just by offering customers the best possible deal.
3. Have an ironclad return policy that will make them feel confident. If a customer is unhappy with their product, they need to feel that you will make it right. If you offer a strong return policy, a customer might be more likely to purchase from you, knowing that they can get their money back if they are unhappy in the end.
4. Offer the best possible warranty to ensure that they know they are getting a quality product. Some places offer little or no warranty on products, but customers want to know that if they are spending the money on a product, it will work just as you said it will. If it doesn't, they deserve their money back, and you can communicate this thought to them through a strong warranty. Customers will always know that they are sure to get their money's worth through your products.
5. Whenever possible, sell the best quality products you can get. Selling junk inspires no customer confidence. If you sell a good, quality product to people, it will be recognized. Your sales will go up through word-of-mouth recommendations just based on the sheer quality of the products you sell.
6. Teach your sales staff to smile and don't use high-pressure sales techniques. Pushing customers to make purchases as soon as they come through the door is not the best way to get a sale. Having sales people available for questions is the right way to handle sales. Additionally, making sure your sales staff looks like they can be approached is a good way to keep customers coming back.
7. Be visible to them. When the owner and operator are approachable, customers will come back. Customers like to see that you are truly part of your operation, not just a figurehead who doesn't care about their needs. If you demonstrate the the customers are a part of your life and your business, they will return on a regular basis.
8. Try to learn your customers' names to breed a feeling of familiarity and friendship. Customers like it when they are known. They like to feel important in the lives of the businesses they use on a regular basis. Knowing them by name, and having a knowledge of their needs will make them more likely to return to you.
9. Try to greet and say goodbye to every customer that enters and leaves your store. Customers like to be recognized. Ignoring someone who comes in the door is the fastest way to lose a customer. Even if this is the first time a customer has come in, be sure to greet them and thank them for coming in as they leave. It is sure to make them feel welcome to come back in anytime.
10. Use of a customer loyalty program is one of the best ways to ensure repeat business. One of the best and most successful programs in force today is using free vacation packages. As a business owner, you can use paid travel vouchers as a customer loyalty program reward. Those customers who frequent the company can earn points that will lead to a free vacation to many destinations around the country. Best of all, it will not cost you an arm and a leg. Find the right customer loyalty program with us today.

5 Easy Steps For Effective Keyword Research

How do you find profitable keywords? Let’s explore the most effective techniques.
1. Competitors Source Code
2. Think Like A Potential Customer
3. Keyword Tools
4. Places
5. Spelling Mistakes
1.) Competitor’s Source Code:
Look at your competitor’s source code and check their Meta tags. Internet Explorer & Opera: Go to their website and then click “View” on the menu bar and select “Source”. Netscape Navigator & Fire Fox: Click “View” on the menu bar and select “Page Source”. Look at the tag that looks like this : All of the words in quotation and separated by commas are keywords. This method will give you an idea which keywords are profitable for your competitors.
2.) Think Like a Potential Customer:
Try to think of combinations of words that web surfers might search for your product with. If you were selling guitars you might use words like this:
guitar, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, fender stratocaster, fender guitar, affordable guitar, cheap guitar, classic guitar
There are probably hundreds or thousands of combinations you can come up with. Don’t forget to use both general keywords like “guitar” and specific keywords like “fender stratocaster”. Usually general keywords will bring you more visitors but specific keywords will convert into sales at a higher rate.
3.) Keyword Tools:
There are great free keyword tools available at YSM (Overture), and Google. Word Tracker is a great keyword tool if you have a little money. You can start an account with them and pay for a day, a week, a month or a year. There is a new keyword tool called Keyword Elite that you can buy. I have never personally used Keyword Elite but a lot of internet marketers are raving about it. These keyword tools will find you hundreds or even thousands of keyword combinations, some of which you wouldn’t think of.
4.) Places
For some products or services you might consider using a name of a town, city, state, province, or even the country in the keyword. If you were selling insurance for example you could use this technique provided you actually serviced the area in your keyword phrase.
Example:
florida insurance, insurance florida, ny insurance, insurance nyus insurance, insurance us, ontario insurance, canadian insurance
5.) Spelling Mistakes:
Hundreds of millions of searches are being performed on the net everyday and nobody is perfect. Spelling mistakes can get you targeted traffic at a fraction of the cost of the normal search term in the pay per click engines. They can also be less competitive as not all marketers are capitalizing on this technique. However, there are a growing number of marketers using this strategy now so it isn’t as effective as it used to be.
Example:
gitar, chep guitar, clasic guitar, affordible guitarsgitars, fender strat, gibsin guitar, electic guitar
There are more techniques and tools out there but this should give you a good start and hopefully help you on your way to a successful campaign.

Keeping your Adwords account organized is very important. It can make it easy for you to find your Adgroups, keywords and your ads. This can help you save time whenever you need to adjust your bids, ads, or keywords. Being organized can also help you achieve a higher clickthrough rate (CTR) which means getting the searcher clicking on your ad and becoming a prospect.
Organize your account by starting with a campaign name relevant to your product or service. If you were selling inkjet cartridges you could use that as the campaign name or the name of your website as the campaign name.
Set up your ad groups so that they are themed. If you were advertising inkjet cartridges and one of the products you are selling is canon inkjet cartridges you could create an adgroup titled “Canon Inkjet Cartridges” and then place relevant keywords in this group.
Ad Group Name: Canon Inkjet Cartridges
Keywords: canon inkjet cartridges, canon ink, canon cartridges, canon inkjet cartridges online
Two reasons for keeping your adgroups organized and themed like this are it is easy to find and adjust the keywords as necessary. It is easy to to put the keyword in the title and body of your ad.
It is important to put the keyword in the title and ad because you will achieve a much higher click through rate (CTR)
Canon Inkjet CartridgesFor huge savings on Canon inkjetcartridges visit us.http://yoursite.com
If you used the above ad with the keywords in the example your ad would be relevant to the searchers and the keywords in the ad would appear bold to the searchers catching their eye.
If a surfer typed the search phrase “canon inkjet cartridges” this is how Google would display your ad:
Canon Inkjet CartridgesFor huge savings on Canon inkjetcartridges visit us.http://yoursite.com
Let's recap what you just learned. The bold text catches the eye of the searcher. The keyword is relevant to what they are looking for thus increasing the chances of you getting the visitor to your website instead of your competitor getting the visitor.
One thing you need to be careful of however is using a trademarked word in your title, description, or as a keyword. Some companies allow you to do this while other companies don't. When in doubt either don't use the trademarked term or contact the company and ask them for permission.
One other advantage of having themed adgroups is that Google rewards relevancy. This can improve your quality score and actually reduce the cost that you pay for the click. Your Ad’s position will improve. You will get a lower cost per customer acquisition (CPA), a higher clickthrough rate (CTR), more profit and a higher return of investment (ROI).

I could write a lot of pages, maybe even a book explaining what pay per click marketing is and what it can do for your business, but I will keep this short and to the point. Pay per click (ppc) marketing is an advertising platform in which you bid an amount of money that you are willing to pay for a click.
When a searcher does a search at Google all of the ads on the right side of the screen are ppc ads. Google calls them sponsored listings. When a surfer types in a keyword, the advertisers who have bid on that keyword have their ads displayed. When one of the ads is clicked by the surfer they are taken to the advertiser’s website. The advertiser is charged at maximum, the amount they’ve bid. Most of the time they are charged less than what they have bid. But they are never charged more than their maximum bid.
The bids can start at 1 cent and depending on the market and the ppc search engine, go up to $50 or more per click. When starting off I suggest bidding very low. Ten to fifteen cents per click or lower is a good start. The higher you bid the higher in the rankings your ad is shown therefore increasing your ad’s visibility and your potential visitors. The downside is bidding high can cost you a lot of money and in some cases bring you way over budget. Be very careful when bidding.
Bidding low might not get you as much traffic as bidding high but it will bring you traffic for much cheaper thus increasing your return of investment (ROI). One way to increase the amount of times your ad is shown (visibility) while bidding low, is to bid on a high volume of keywords. Some marketers bid on hundreds and up to hundreds of thousands of keywords.
This method will take some time. Putting together hundreds or thousands of keywords can be time consuming, but it is an effective strategy for getting quality traffic, without paying a lot of money. The more you work with the ppcs the faster you will get at putting together lists of keywords.
In case you’re not sure how to generate that many keywords there are many tools on the net that will help. Some are free and some charge money. One of the best free tools is offered by a company formerly named Overture, which has been bought out by Yahoo! This tool can be found here. http://inventory.overture.com
What can ppc marketing do for your business? Depending on your market, ppc marketing can be a great way to get quality traffic inexpensively, increasing your ROI and profit. It is also a great method for testing products because your ad can “go live” in as little as 15 minutes and up to 5 business days. Depending on which ppc search engine you use.
Advertising your business at free search engines a.k.a organic search engines can take weeks or even months for your website to be indexed in their directory. It can take a lot longer than that to get a decent ranking on your search terms. The more competitive the keywords you are trying to get listed, the harder it is to obtain a decent ranking. This is one reason why ppc search engines have a huge advantage over organic search engines.
I, as well as thousands of other marketers think the best two ppc search engines are Google Adwords and Yahoo! Search Marketing (formerly Overture). Google claims your ad can “go live” in 15 minutes but it usually takes a couple of hours. This is really fast. Yahoo! Usually takes a couple of days.
There are thousands of smaller ppc search engines. Some of them are good and some are not. Some will take your money but will not have many searchers. Google and Yahoo have hundreds of millions of searchers every day. If you think about using a smaller ppc do some research and find out what experiences other marketers have had. There are thousands of forums, newsletters, ezines and info sites dedicated to educating people about ppc marketing. You can learn a lot about Google Adwords, Yahoo! Search Marketing and a lot of the smaller (2nd tier) ppc search engines at these places.

1. Find A Product
2. Keyword Research
3. Ad Copy
4. Bidding Strategies
5. Tracking & Testing
Let’s explore these steps in more detail below:
1.) Find a Product:
If you don’t have your own product a fast way to get started is to join an affiliate network such as cj.com, clickbank.com or linkshare.com. There are thousands of great products at these networks. They are easy and free to join. You don’t need a website to start however it is a good idea to invest in a website once you found a lucrative market. You can also thousands of companies who run their affiliate programs in-house. To find these companies type in a product you would like to advertise and follow it with affiliate program. E.g. “guitar lessons affiliate program”.
2.) Keyword Research:
Brain storm search terms that people would use to find your market. Use general and specific keywords. Generic keyword e.g. “guitar lessons” “learn the guitar”. Specific keyword e.g. “guitar made easy” “ebook guitar lessons”. Check your competitors’ website source code and look at their meta tags to see what keywords they are using. Use keyword tools like Word tracker, Overture and Google Sandbox. These will help you uncover hundred to thousands of keyword phrases and combinations.
3.) Ad Copy:
Writing good ad copy is crucial for getting visitors from Adwords. Focus on the benefits of the product you are selling and use the keyword in the title of your ad. If a web surfer typed the keyword “guitar made easy” you could write an ad like this:
Guitar Made EasyLearn Insider Techniques toMaster the Guitar Fast.http://www.your-guitar-store.com
The keyword is in the title and the benefits are in the ad body.
4.) Bidding Strategies:
If you have a small budget keep your bids low between 10 and 25 cents per click. Bid on as many keywords as you can. Don’t get into bidding wars with your competitor for 1st place or any ranking. Figure out what a visitor is worth to you. If you have 4 sales for every 100 visitors and you make $20 per sale, a visitor would be worth $0.80. This is how I calculate the visitors worth 4 sales x $20 / 100 visitors. Once you know what a visitor is worth you will know how much your maximum bid should be. To obtain a healthy ROI never bid more than half of what a visitor is worth on a search term. Using our example above a visitor is worth $0.80 so you would keep bids below $0.40 because you want to try to make a 200% ROI.
5.) Testing And Tracking
Experiment with your ads. Split test 2 ads in your Adwords account. Keep the ad that performs the best and edit or rewrite the loser and split test again. Look at your Adwords stats to make note of the best performing ads. This will teach you what types of ads work best for your market. Test variations of your landing page. Modify your page and track your results. You should constantly be testing and tracking your website content and your ads. Google has a conversion tool to help track specific goals like your ROI and your click thru rate to your website links. Google has an excellent tool called Google Analytics that tracks traffic, goals, ROI, keywords and much more. It is the best free tracking tool I have ever heard of.

10-step Plan For Effective Website Design

10-step Plan For Effective Website Design

If you are thinking about creating a website, there are a number of key principles you should consider before setting out. If you follow this simple ten-step plan, you will be well on your way to sharing your creation with the World Wide Web community.
1. Choose a HTML Editor
Before you can begin designing your new website, you will need a piece of software called a HTML Editor or sometimes called Web Editor. Basically, this converts your visual design into a language called Hypertext Markup Language (or HTML for short). In turn, this is then interpreted by web browsers - such as Microsoft's Internet Explorer - and delivers your website contents over the Internet. Virtually all Web Editors provide you with WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) functionality for ease of use and simplicity and there are many to choose from. You can consider freeware, shareware or moving up into the commercial applications there is the Microsoft FrontPage offering or the more complicated, but much loved, Dreamweaver product. Initially, it is probably worth trying out the free or try-before-you-buy applications that are freely downloadable from the Internet.
2. Simple design and structure
It is always best to keep the basic website design as simple as possible, not only because you are just starting out, but crucially because people dislike ‘busy’ content. Try to achieve a consistent layout across all the pages, making sure you keep logos, menus and content areas in the same place as much as possible. Think carefully about your directory structure, as websites can begin to ‘grow legs’ and it can be quite frustrating trying to make simple changes if you have web pages and images all in the same directory. For instance, separate out images etc within their own subdirectory. As your skills begin to develop you'll also want to think about keeping the page formatting in one .css file extension.
3. Keep the design easy on the eye
Have you ever visited a website and immediately clicked away from it because of crazy, flashing images, ticker-tape text or just downright garish colours? This is something to keep in mind as you develop your skills. Remember, what appeals to you may offend someone else's senses, so try to keep colour schemes as neutral as possible, almost to the point of being bland. Why do you think Google’s website is so popular? Clearly, it may be verging on the visually boring, but it does the job without fuss.
4. Simple navigation
Think about creating a simple navigation structure so the user remains in control and doesn't get confused and frustrated. As you begin to create third and even fourth level pages, always make sure there are quick routes back to the key pages. As a general rule, ensure there is a link to the home page and people can contact you from more or less every page.
5. Content is key
Try to make sure your content is relevant to what your website is all about. It sounds obvious, but don't just add content for the sake of padding it out and if you can keep the material original it will pay dividends in the long run. Essentially, this is because you want your visitors to return and the search engines will also give your website a higher ranking if it is full of original content
6. Webpage naming conventions
Have you ever visited a website where the individual web page URLs are so long you could never write them down? This is not good practice and it is helpful to both the search engines and visitors if the page names actually describe the contents wherever possible. For instance, if your website is all about garden ponds and you have a specific page about Koi carp, why not call it just that. Something like www.mydomain.com/koi_carp is better than ../page21.htm.
7. Titles and Meta tags
Make sure that each and every web page across your entire website carries a unique Title and Meta names that are relevant to each page. It is vital that you try to give each page a title that reflects the actual contents, as the search engines use this information when deciding the relative position of key word results. If you forget this important aspect, you will consign your web pages to the back of the search engine results queue. This is a basic schoolboy mistake that many accomplished website designers make from time to time, including me!
8. Domain Name
Unless you plan to use free web space provided by your Internet service provider for instance, you will need to think about purchasing a Domain Name. They are so cheap that they are accessible to virtually everyone and for most people it is a worthwhile investment. When choosing the name of your website domain, you might want to try and register a name that actually reflects what your website is about. Admittedly, it is becoming increasingly difficult to register unique domain name combinations, but it is possible if you use a certain amount of creative thinking. Again, using the pond fish example, something like www.yourtownpond fish.com is better than something nondescript like www.abcabc.com, as it contains relevant words about your chosen subject and even your location.
9. Hosting Package
Most people will want to buy a cheap hosting package to share their creative work with the public. With the massive competition that exists in this arena, you will only have to pay a few dollars a month for a basic offering. Try not to lock yourself into lengthy contracts, as you may want to shop around later on when you become concerned about the number of e-mail addresses, web space and bandwidth. For most people who are just starting out these are not important considerations, but they are likely to become issues for you after a while.
10. Links
The principal way in which the Search Engines determine the level of a website’s popularity is to take into consideration the number and quality of links from other websites. There are lots of other factors, such as the quality of the content, but you must remember that you need other websites to link to your website to achieve a reasonable search engine ranking. There are companies that will offer a service to achieve this for you, but it is not difficult to do. It will take you time, effort and patience, but it is worth it in the end. Essentially, you will need to contact the web administrator of those websites you want to share a link with, offering to exchange links. You might only get responses from 1 in 15 attempts, so be prepared to ‘waste’ a lot of effort.

A GPS or Global Positioning System is used to determine the user's current location, and the best route and directions for the destination. These positioning systems are now widely used in a variety of devices such as smart phones, automobile navigation systems, handheld devices, laptops and other such devices.
The working of this system is relatively simple to comprehend. In the working of a positioning system a GPS receiver calculates its position by measuring the distance between itself and three or more satellites. Since the signal travels at a known speed, measuring the time delay between transmission and reception of each GPS microwave signal gives the distance to each satellite, thus the calculations can be precise.
While doing this, the signals also carry information about the satellites' location. Thus by determining the position of, and distance to, at least three satellites, the receiver can compute its position using trilateration. The GPS receivers usually do not have perfectly accurate clocks and therefore track one or more additional satellites to correct the receiver's clock error. In such a way your location is taken out correctly and is displayed through the navigator.
In general, the receivers used in a typical positioning system are composed of an antenna, tuned to the frequencies transmitted by the satellites, receiver-processors, and a highly stable clock. Some of them also include a LCD display for providing location and speed information to the user.
The number of channels it can operate with and can monitor simultaneously describes the capacity of a reciver. Before a couple of years the numbers of channels in the receiver were limited to four or five, but has progressively increased over the years so that receivers typically have between twelve and twenty channels in the present scenario.
This system is now commonly used in a number of devices. One such use of the GPS system is in the recreational and sports activities. This allows the professionals, navigational and other important details using their device anywhere they could get the signals. That is why such devices are very popular among hikers, hunters, skiers, mountain bikers, and other such outdoor adventure buffs.
A GPS system is very essential in keeping the track of the location, and to find way to a specified destination, or know what direction and how fast you are traveling can utilize the benefits of the global positioning system or the GPS.
GPS is also widely used in the automobiles industry as well. There are some basic GPS applications that are used to provide emergency roadside assistance at the push of a button. It works by transmitting the current position of the user to a dispatch center.
Many systems that are more advanced and show your position on a navigation map are also available. These offer not one but man features apart from the navigational map; for instance, you can choose and select the best possible way to a desired location. You can even save your preferences in this type of advance systems.

Coffee Pods To Start A Great Day

Coffee Pods To Start A Great Day

A great day begins with a cup of freshly roasted coffee. And that you get from an excellent coffee pod. Pods or coffee pods or espresso pods are a simple way to get a perfect espresso and with excellent results.
But for the beginners let's answer a simple question first i.e. what are coffee pods? Coffee pods are freshly roasted coffee, ground perfect, tampered to the correct pressure and then encapsulated in a paper. It is the beginning of a rich experience of the way you drink coffee.
The original pod was first designed by Illy caffe around 10 years ago. It was the year 1996 when Illy opened its idea to the coffee industry to bring a standard pod size to the market. Many coffee machine makers now offer adaptors with their machines to accept pods.
By using them in your machine not only can you guarantee perfect results, there is no mess and they help to look after your machine. In fact used ones can even be used as fertilizer for your garden as well. That is why a rich coffee taste is always benefiting.
If you are an espresso connoisseur by heart you can find a great relief with the coffee pods. As an espresso lover you understand that there are many ways of preparation where the espresso can get wrong, the grind, the measurement, freshness, the roast, tampering, temperature, water pressure are some areas which one has to watch out to make that special cup of coffee.
Now if you wonder what the best kind of coffee pod is, the answer is the home made one. Don't be shocked, it is true to the last drop of espresso. You can actually make them from your freshly roasted coffee beans. Although it is not that easy but it is sheer fun and little adventure to make one in your kitchen itself.
What you need is your favorite freshly roasted coffee beans perfectly grounded to fine powder, a sheet of filter paper and some kitchen tools. The first step to get a home made is to get the correct measuring scoop for the size of the pod. Take the coffee style filter paper sheet and put it in the scoop.
The next step is to find a glass bottle or something similar which can be used to pressure the paper in that scoop. If you have found the right size of glass jar (in most cases you will) center the filter around the jar and do it by putting the combination back in the scoop leaving a cup shaped filter paper in the scoop. Add one scoop, or about 2 teaspoons of your favorite ground coffee to this paper-filter-cup more or less to taste.
The typical coffee scoops that come with makers hold about 7 grams of coffee which is just about right. Give the cup a slight shake to evenly spread the grounds across the bottom of the filter, and then use your finger to gently fold over the extra filter material, completely covering the ground coffee. For a really well-formed pod, you can place the jar into the scoop one last time and press down really hard with the palm of your hand.
At last your favorite coffee pod is now ready to be put into the espresso machine to enjoy that rich taste of coffee. And who said coffee is not about fun.
